About 50 slaughterhouses, 70% of 71 slaughterhouses nationwide, were opened and worked from Saturday 28th to 29th. Approximately 113,000 pigs are slaughtered and shipped.
The Agri-Food Department expects pig slaughter and shipments to increase in earnest from this week, with more than 781,000 pigs slaughtered at 70 slaughterhouses across the country.

An agri-food official said, “As ASF is not infected by humans, all pork produced in Korea has been thoroughly tested at the slaughter stage and only safe pork is on the market.
○ Ask consumers to eat pork with confidence.
○ The domestic pork supply capacity is sufficient, considering domestic production and inventory, so that local governments, agricultural cooperatives, producer groups, retailers, etc., will continue to cooperate to stabilize the supply and demand of pork. -goodmorning editer
